Youtube is a fantastic venue for getting your art discovered. You simply make short videos on how you create your art or you can have a slide show of your portfolio put to music. This means that there is the possibility for your art to be seen around the world 24 hours a day.
"Akumal", 28" x 82" silk batik
The silk medium is ideal for creating oversized paintings. The colours which are applied in liquid form using small sumi pony hair brushes flow effortlessly through the natural textile resulting in vibrant textures and light hues which are not possible in other mediums.
I am a tropical painter, my art is an intoxicating experience of vibrant colours and shimmering textures on silk. I have been living in Canada for the last twelve years and I am now on a journey to capture Canadian nature and landscapes on silk. I will be painting my subjects with a Caribbean eye perspective. To me, the whole world dances in light and colour. This brook trout could be in a crystal river in one of many rivers on the island of Dominica, but it's actually the Rouge River in Markham, Ontario.
Canada is a vast beautiful country with geographic treasure trove of amazing landscapes. This is my first in a series of silk paintings to explore and to compose silk painting of how I see this earthly paradise.
